Introducing Haris 2.0

Bonjour! fair warning , it's gonna be a long post!
Well it's all coming to an end huh? Dear 2011, seriously I would to it ALL over again, such a bittersweet
year! Happiness, Drama, Conflict and all emotions were felt throughout this year. I went through a LOT of
changes. I constantly try to change or improve myself in all aspect, but 2011 really changed me. If I look back to the past you'd see how different we were. Haris 2.0 (hehe, upgrade! get yours today!haha) , as I was saying, Haris 2.0 has more confidence , guts, he takes risks , more stable, and a sense of style in my terms at least . A lot of close friends realizes this change and I ask them is the change bad? they said no , then what is it? I don't know, you just seem different!. That even shocked me and scared me at the same time, I still felt like I was Haris. Well this year gave a lot of opportunity, I started  my blog which I don't understand why would you want to see boring me but I'm thankful for the great feedback! Thank you all beautiful 56 followers of mine, not much but I'm grateful ,  this blog has really changed my life, meeting new cool people, selling my prints , etc.I wish to continue blogging as long as I can . So I've been preparing myself for Haris 2.0 , changing wardrobe, health, room, more artworks and the whole deal. Since my tonsils are out, Insyaallah i'll be healthier for 2012.

Dream Orb

Bonjour! I know, I know that I've been missing in action.  I have stuff to post about but was just too lazy and was caught up with worldly doings. So let me explain my absence and what I've done since. Well the first major event I went through was a surgery! yes people surgery! Well nothing major , haha . I just had my tonsils removed ( if you don't know what it is , google it , quite common procedure) the surgery itself wasn't painful but boy it hurts after that! It still hurts but I'm still functioning. Well I was in the hospital for two bloody days! It was soooo boring! I hate sleeping in the hospital plus I had needles on my hand attached to some substance that was suspicious. That made things worst since it was uncomfortable, and the first night I was sleeping and I din't realise that I twisted the needle and I was bleeding, blood went through half of my bed sheet, and it din't hurt haha! Okay I think you guys had enough of my gruesome hospital stories. Before I was  in the hospital,I managed to finish a fairly big circular artwork. I always wanted to create something circular. So I was inspired by nature landscapes and rock forms , and melted colours. Mainly I just wanted a cool artwork to hang on my wall. Since I renovated my whole room 360. Seriously I love my room now, after I went out from the hospital.I decided to reconstruct my room , I threw 80% of my stuff cause I tend to collect trash , literally not kidding. So my room feels much bigger now with fresh paint and new accessories.I'll post the pictures of my room later, when it's really finish and a video I did of the process of the artwork!
Okay let get on with it shall we?

You guys like, should I make it a print? remember I said that I wanted to print my artwork on clothes?
well I designed a few things let me know if you like it. I'm just playing around with it. I've decided to name
my clothes Venom Fame of course so here's the logo....

and that'll be me right after surgery , I felt nothing I was so numb.
Bye now , love ya !

Green Pastures

Salut! and Salam,
I hope that everyone is having a great weekend! Today was one heck of fun! I'ts my families crazy adventure again, love those. Where we plan the trip as much as we could, but we really just go with the flow and let the road takes us where we need to be. So packed up our picnic food, spare clothes ( for any water encounters) , a tent and my desperate need of a getaway!. As usual , me and my sister's would sleep the whole way through never knowing where were going. Bukak- bukak je mata dah sampai dah, hehe. We din't even plan to go there( much expected), it was those usual river camping place ( tepi sungai, hehe) But the weather was cloudy and it was very cold, when I saw the strong current of the water , I had a chill ...no way was I going in there without freezing to death. So we set up our tent, had amazing mum cooked meal.
So yeah I ended up getting in the water and yes it was freezing*brrrr! My mum forced us to.

This time I'm being one with nature!
You know what, while we were eating, there were this swarms of big well fed green butterflies, they were
so beautiful , I was wondering why were they so many. Then while I was splashing in the water , I caught a
sight that the butterflies were gathering behind a rock , they're standing still. So I just had to take a picture!
So here's my theory, because they are natural hot springs there randomly placed by mother nature, so you had to figure out where the spots were. Even though the water was freezing the sand beneath my feet was warm. So what I'm saying is that the butterflies are just  warming up against the sand! haha.

Then It rained , so you could  see where the hot springs where since the rain caused the hot water to steam.

DIY magic
I have a treat for you guys, I have a DIY tutorial for you ! I always have random ideas then without
hesitation i'll get to it before the ideas goes. I had an idea, why not I document the process and share it with you guys.  So this is a text inspired decor that later turned to a necklace! Enjoy. It's easy to do and you
can play around with it.

Firstly, get your favorite pattern, it may be a floral design , checked , etc. Entirely up to you, you can use
wrapping paper , felt and if you have old cloth laying around, that a bingo! So I have this old carpet material
laying around and I love the Aztec feel of it , if been using it a lot in my DIY's .

Next is to choose you text, this is the fun part! Really you can say anything you like. I saw cool one in the web, like "badass", "LOL" and even your name. I decided to choose a short word ,"FLY".
Then you open your Microsoft Word or Illustrator(if you have one) and type the word and play around
with the font and choose your favorite one. Then , print it out and trace it on your material.Cut it out!

Then you can out the word, so it look's like this, To make it thicker and more durable , get a thick cardboard  material or anything thick for that matter, recycle. And trace the word on it and cut, then stick them together with hot glue gun!

Now, you can just use it like this , because it looks cool itself, and it can be a great addition to your room, just put on your book shelf , it gives a fun and modern effect. Text's are just fun to play with. I decided to go further and make a necklace out of it, cause it's rad! haha. To do this, you just need plies , a chain(cheap one's) rings , or just about anything to use as a strap. Then you'll have your own cool and original rad necklace!and I painted the side's gold.

I hope you enjoyed my DIY idea , I hope to make more of it. Till next time , BYE.

Haris Rashid.

The Queen of the Damned

Hello there,
I've realized that I've been publishing super long posts lately, I don't know why, it just I want to share
everything and there's load to tell. So, today's post will be long as well. I am proud and relief to announce
that my dreadful semester is FINALLY over!! *applause* yeay! Isn't it simply exciting !! I have enormous
plans for my break, I'll be posting more regularly here and my tumblr www.thevenomfame.tumblr.com( where I post inspirations that tend to become artworks!) I have a project that I'm working on and doing research but trust me it's going to be BIG! Since yesterday, I've sent my most anticipated artwork ever for finals in Illustration Fundamentals ( colour pencil class basically). I was given the theme of darkness, the perfect theme I might say!, I've always wanted to create works that are more provocative and dark in a sense. So I was obviously excited and giddy , my hand was itching to make the artwork!. So I came up with few ideas for it, there was, red riding hood being chase by the white queen alongside dementors in a wintery forest, there was , a man who was allured by a mermaid by the side of a lake where deep under the water the mermaid  was controlled by a kraken( giant octopus ) and there was , a queen who digested angels to maintain her beauty and youth! So I choose that queen obviously , then it went to researching photos for references, thumbnail, colour study and final outcome!.Enjoy!

So I wanted to make something big, real big, the biggest I've made before.
Instead of the size A1 , I went for A0! typical me giving crazy goals for myself!
I really thought I couldn't finish it, by shear determination and a miracle
I did it! in only 5 days. * pats back*

So below are colour study.

So yeah detailed shots, since I would be seeing it till next semester , so I went crazy on taking photos
So excuse my obsessiveness. Here's the relative size of the drawing to me. Owh I forgot! The artworks
medium is , 80% colour pencil , 20% watercolor and gauche on colored paper!.

Okay I'm done, I hope you guys enjoyed it cause I know I did!
Au Revoir, X.
